I wanted to personally address Chapter 5 pg 133, 134 in the book:
The Guidelines for masturbation pg 134 in the book were influenced by the book: "Bringing up boys" by Dr. James Dobson
PG. 133 The mindset section was not directly reviewed by a Pastor- as it states, that it was. This section was added at the very end of the publishing /editing process and this page 133 was not officially edited by a Pastor, I do apologize for this misconception. The intention was there, that is why it was stated.
All the other parts of the book were edited by a Pastor but this was an additional section added in at the later stages of the process.

Biblical Perspective on Sexual Purity and Masturbation
The Bible does not directly mention masturbation, so understanding its stance involves applying biblical principles related to purity, thoughts, and self-control.
Key Scriptural Principles:
1. Holiness and Purity:
- "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)
- This verse encourages believers to focus their minds on what is pure and noble, guarding their thoughts from lustful or sinful patterns.
2. Living for Christ in Actions and Words:
- "Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17)
- Our entire lives, including how we handle desires and temptations, should honor Christ.
3. Self-Control and Disciplined Thinking:
- "For the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23)
- Exercising self-control over sexual thoughts and impulses aligns with living by the Spirit.
4. Guarding the Heart and Mind:

Instead of dwelling on lustful thoughts, meditate on God's love, grace, and the blessings He has given. Recognize that sexual intimacy is a gift designed for marriage (Hebrews 13:4), and reflect on that purity.
- Avoid Temptation:
Stay away from media, images, or environments that may trigger lustful thoughts or behaviors. Be proactive in creating boundaries.
- Renew Your Mind:
Replace lustful or obsessive thoughts with Scripture and positive, God-honoring activities (Romans 12:2).
- Pray for Self-Control:
Ask God daily for strength to resist temptation and to develop the fruit of self-control (1 Corinthians 10:13).
- Accountability and Community:
Seek trusted Christian friends or mentors who can support you in maintaining purity and accountability.
Addressing Guilt and Shame:
- The Bible assures believers of God's forgiveness through Jesus Christ (1 John 1:9). When guilt or shame arise, remember that Christ’s sacrifice offers forgiveness and renewal.

The Four Causes of Concern:

3. Pornographic Materials:
- Avoid exposure to anything that fuels lustful thoughts. Protect your eyes and mind.
4. Substitution for Healthy Sexual Relationships:
- Recognize that sex is designed for marriage (Hebrews 13:4). Properly channel desires within the boundaries God established.
In summary, while the Bible does not explicitly address masturbation, it emphasizes living a life of purity, controlling one’s thoughts, and honoring God with our bodies and minds. By focusing on biblical truth, seeking God's strength, and practicing self-control, believers can pursue spiritual purity in line with God's design and principles.
